“I don’t have any pre but my post game is ordering a white pizza and hang out with my family. I was once told I smell like mustard.”
Bradley Bozeman, Baltimore Ravens, Guard
“I don’t really have a lucky routine I just call it a regular routine I do before every game, and it gets crazy out there with the trash talk some things you can’t type in your report lol”
Tavon Young, Baltimore Ravens, Cornerback
” [My] Pre game routine is simple. The night before I always visualize my performance and I go through our whole defensive call sheet. On the actual game day, I wake up to an immediate cup of coffee (mainly because I love coffee so much) and a little morning visualization. After that, if it is a home game, my girlfriend picks me up and we drive up to the game. I usually have a pretty good playlist flowing before then. I show up, I warm-up, I put my pads on, and I get ready to play. Very simple.”
Isaac Rochell, Los Angeles Chargers, Defensive End
“I eat a really good meal. Listen to my playlist (mostly drake). Get on the field and go through some d-line drills, Then it’s game time…To make sure I’m mentally prepared, I watch a lot of film and study my playbook. I try to get as much sleep as possible the night before as well.”
Chris Wormley, Baltimore Ravens, Defensive End
“Typically I drink a coffee when I drive to the stadium, or when we bus to the stadium on away games. Go to the locker room and get my gear situated at my locker. I go out on the field early before pregame warmups to walk the field and enjoy the stadium and I always call my wife when I’m out on the field stretching and rolling out. After that I’ll come back to the locker room and usually take a long hot shower to collect my thoughts and warm up my body. I’ll get stretched and adjusted by the chiropractor and then get dressed and lock in mentally for the game. The locker room is usually cranking music the whole time.”
Nick Dzubnar, Los Angeles Chargers, Linebacker
“[I] Listen to music and say a couple of prayers on the field”, and studying my opponent thoroughly gives me an advantage.”
Donovan Olumba, Dallas Cowboys, Cornerback
“For a 1 o’clock kick off I get out of bed at our team hotel at 8:30 and to breakfast at 8:45. I usually have two chicken sandwiches and a protein shake. For home games I leave the hotel at 9:30 and drive myself to the stadium. Once I get to my locker I change into shorts and cleats and catch some balls on the field at 10:30. At 10:45 I come back in, stretch out in a hot shower and change into the stuff I’ll wear under my pads. I’ll then hit the training room, get any tape I need (ankles, fingers, etc) and also stretch a bit and get loose. About 15 minutes before the team heads out for warmups I start getting the rest of my gear on. Then I’m out at 12:05 with my position group.”
Jaeden Graham, Atlanta Falcons, Tight End
“I don’t have a set routine or lucky ritual because I don’t want to feel like I need to depend on anything to play well. I want to feel confident and trust my teammates and myself to get it done.”
Matt Prater, Detroit Lions, Kicker
“I don’t really do anything weird or unique. The biggest thing for me is consistency. Doing the same thing every time gives me a level of comfort that make me feel ready to perform. I usually roll out and do light stretch then go out to field run routes and catch a few punts before coming back into locker room to put pads on. Then we start our routine as a team. My ritual is always listen to music and read [a] few of my favorite scriptures.”
Alex Erickson, Cincinnati Bengals, Wide Receiver
